How long will it take to receive my order?
You can expect to receive your order within 7–14 business days.

Where do you ship from?
Our tapestries are shipped from Canada and the US, depending on your location.

Do you offer free shipping?
Yes! We offer free shipping on all orders within the United States and Canada.

Do you ship internationally?
Currently, we do not offer international shipping but we’re working to expand in the future.

How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, you'll receive a confirmation email with tracking details so you can follow its journey to your door.

What materials are your tapestries made from?
All of our tapestries are printed on 100% cotton sateen fabric.

How are your products made?
Each tapestry is crafted using a reactive printing process designed for natural fabrics like cotton. This multi-step method infuses color deep into the fibers through pretreating, printing, steaming, and washing. The result is rich detail, vibrant hues, and a soft, lasting finish.

Unlike pigment printing, reactive dyeing ensures the fabric remains washable, durable, and soft to the touch—without fading or stiffness over time.

Our production is made-to-order, which helps minimize waste and avoid overproduction.

Will the colors look the same in person as they do on screen?
Actual colors may vary slightly from what you see on your screen, as display settings can differ between devices.

How should I hang or display a tapestry?
Tapestries can be hung using clips, push pins or a curtain rod. They also look beautiful draped over furniture or layered as wall décor.

Can I use the tapestry as a tablecloth, curtain, or throw?
Absolutely! The fabric is versatile enough to use as a tablecloth, lightweight curtain, or decorative throw.

How do I wash or clean my tapestry?

• For first washing, rinse separately from other laundry with cold water.
• Following the rinse, run a normal cycle with cold water and detergent.
• Machine dry on high.
• Wash normally in cold water for subsequent washings.
• Can be dry cleaned.
• Do not bleach.

Can the tapestry be ironed ?
Yes — iron on a cotton setting (medium to high heat.

What’s your return policy?
Due to the made-to-order nature of our products, we accept returns or offer refunds only if your item arrives damaged or with a manufacturing defect.

What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?
Please contact us within 14 days of delivery and include clear photos of the issue. If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we will either:

• Reprint and reship the item at no extra cost (including return shipping if required), or
• Issue a refund if a replacement isn’t possible.
  

Can I cancel or change my order after it's placed?
Orders may be canceled within 12 hours of placement, before production begins. After this window, all orders are final.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, PayPal, Google Pay and Shop Pay

Is my payment information secure?

Where are your products manufactured?
All of our tapestries are currently manufactured in Canada.

Is Bowerbird’s Abode a small business?
Yes! Bowerbird’s Abode is a one-designer studio.

Are your products ethically produced?
Yes — our products are made through a small-batch production process that prioritizes ethical labor and environmental responsibility.

• Fair labor practices: Skilled workers print and sew each piece in a clean, safe studio environment. Work is never outsourced to unknown factories.
  
• Eco-conscious process: We use a reactive dye process with certified finishing chemicals to ensure vibrant, long-lasting color with minimal environmental impact.
  
• Made to order: Each item is created only when ordered to help avoid overproduction and reduce waste.
  
• Our cotton sateen fabric is made in a facility with OEKO-TEX® certification, and the finishing chemicals used are BlueSign® and GOTS-certified.

Do you accept custom orders or commissions?
Yes! If you'd like to see one of our existing designs in custom colors, need a tapestry customized with your business logo, or want an elegant backdrop with personalized text for a special occasion — we’d love to help.
